Naresh has been collaborating with folks in the environmental history department, especially Dagomar Degroot and Tim Newfield. They just released an important article in Nature about how NOT to study the impacts of historical climate on human societies. This paper has a lot of applications to other large-scale research endeavors and provides a great framework for building some guardrails for how we approach other areas of environmental science where people are researching exciting topics, but not taking care in how they approach it.
